Lana D lives by this truth. As a preacher's kid, she grew up sneaking to watch BET/ 106 & Park so she was  influenced by artist like Missy Elliott, Eve, Lauren Hill, and Brandy. Their flow, tonality and cadence helped her to find her own and now she uses her voice to inspire hope through her music. 

 

In striving to continuously improve and challenge herself, Lana D auditioned for and attended a Maverick City Music online songwriting camp in 2021 when she first began her journey. In 2021 she also traveled to ATL to record her 1st single with the help of  vocal producer Makeba Riddick Woods. Since then she's collaborated with notable producers and artists within the CHH community such as S.O, OnBeatMusic, George Rose and more. By keeping the faith, even in seasons of being hidden and isolated, Lana D has been blessed to have had multiple songs played on Sirius XM radio. More recently, she attended a songwriting session through IMB where she was able to collaborate with other songwriters under the guidance of Fred "Dark Child" Jerkins.  In May 2025 she also won 1st place in Holy Culture's "Inspired by Him" songwriting contest which came with a 1 year partnership with Holy Culture Records.

 

Lana D believes that her independent artist journey has been a testament of how "your gifts will make room for you and put you before great men/women..." and God keeps doing just that. God Bless
